Multi-Tensor Fixel-Based Metrics in Tractometry: Towards Demyelination Detection

Most diffusion MRI tractometry pipelines in Multiple Sclerosis (MS) research use Diffusion Tensor Imaging (DTI) metrics to indirectly quantify myelin in white matter (WM) and characterize demyelination. However, it is well-known that these DTI metrics are limited by fiber crossings. Here we show how to characterize per-bundle lesions by processing multi-tensor's fixel-based FA and RD metrics.
